Not just another athletic event, the Iditarod is a true piece of history that commemorates the heroic effort of some mighty men and their incredible dogs to deliver life-saving diptheria serum to the dying children of Nome, Alaska. Enjoy this indoor lecture and presentation of action photos from past races, and a special guest appearance by "Arrow", the AKC champion Siberian Husky that ran on "Team Stormwatch". Learn about the rescue efforts of Adopt A Husky, Inc. and visit with the Siberian Husky foster dogs, many of whom are available for adoption. Join us outdoors for ongoing dogsled and skijoring demos and presentations. Other indoor activites include informational videos, education, pictures and one of a kind merchandise. All ages welcome. Please leave your pets at home as they are not permitted at the Arboretum. |
