Comments: Avalanche was adopted 8 years ago from AAHI, but his owners moved and could not take him along.  Avi is a darling boy who has lots of spunk still in him.  Avi is blind. We took Avalanche to the ophthalmologist as soon as he came in, where we were informed that he was totally blind in one eye and had only limited vision in the other; over time, he has lost that limited vision.  The only care he will need is one drop of medicine in his eyes every day.  This will be for life, but his medicine is not expensive and a bottle lasts 9 months.

Avalanche is thriving in his foster home with other dogs to keep him company and blended with hardly an issue. Avi is a wonderful dog who, through no fault of his own, is homeless after 11 years.  Won’t you make room in your pack for this special special needs Siberian?

I want to apply to adopt a dog now.

All dogs are:

  • spayed or neutered prior to adoption
  • evaluated for temperament and trainability
  • up to date on ALL shots, including Bordetella (kennel cough)
  • heartworm tested and on preventative year-round
  • micro-chipped for identification
